Beaches
Whether you're after a family-friendly swim, a paddleboard adventure, or a quiet sunset spot, Falmouth’s beaches have it all. Dive into our beach guide to find the perfect sandy stretch for your holiday.

Gyllyngvase Beach
One of Falmouth’s most popular beaches, Gylly is perfect for swimming and paddleboarding, with calm waters and golden sand. The Gylly Beach Café serves great food and coffee with a sea view. Dogs are welcome except from 10am–6pm, May 15–Sept 30. Early mornings and evenings are ideal for dog walks.

Castle Beach
Rockpool heaven when the tide is out, Castle Beach is a more rugged spot with incredible views of Pendennis Castle. There’s a small café for snacks and ice cream. Dogs are not permitted 10am–6pm, July 1–Aug 31, but welcome at other times.

Swanpool Beach
A sheltered cove with a quirky beach café serving homemade ice cream and hot food. Ideal for kayaking, mini-golf and family fun. Dogs are not allowed 10am–6pm, July 1–Aug 31. The nearby Beach House café is dog-friendly, and the coastal path from here to Maenporth is stunning.

Maenporth Beach
Just a short drive from Falmouth, Maenporth is a wide, sandy beach with gentle waves — great for families and paddleboarding. The Life’s a Beach Café and The Cove Restaurant are nearby. Dogs are banned 10am–6pm, July 1–Aug 31.

Durgan Beach
Tucked below Glendurgan Garden, this quiet shingle beach is peaceful and scenic. Perfect for a paddle or picnic. Dog-friendly all year round, though access is by foot only.

Grebe Beach
A secluded, tree-lined beach near Durgan, Grebe is perfect for wild swims and peaceful moments. There are no facilities, but it’s dog-friendly all year. A great stop on a Helford River walk or an evening BBQ.

Helford Passage Beach
This south-facing beach is great for kayaking and watching boats go by. Grab a drink or lunch at the Ferryboat Inn, right on the water. Dogs are not allowed July 1–Aug 31, 10am–6pm, but are welcome outside those hours.

Flushing Beach
A hidden local favourite just across the harbour. Great for quiet sunbathing, swimming, and views of Falmouth. Dog-friendly all year round, and only a short stroll from the dog-welcoming Waterside and Royal Standard pubs.

Meudon Beach (Bream Cove)
Accessed through the hotel gardens or via the South West Coast Path from Maenporth, this peaceful cove is a real gem. It’s perfect for snorkelling, swimming, or simply escaping the crowds. Dog-friendly all year round, but with no facilities — so pack a picnic and enjoy the tranquillity.
